Book Review

First time I have read one of Anne Brookes books and I wasn't disappointed. Rape isn't the nicest of subjects but it how Kate copes afterwards that is the main thrust of this story. She is sometimes her own worst enemy but you really know where she is coming from. She has your sympathy, well most of the time. You do get frustrated with her at times. But the story flows well and you just hope that it all ends happily, but you do wonder at times whether Kate will find peace.

The story questions the friendship between Kate, her best friend Nicky and Nicky’s husband . It explores how close people do get to each other. No matter how close THINK you are to someone, you never completely know them and never completely open up to them.

Thanks Anne for a great read, great story and for making me think.

Goodness me, Peter - I'll never be able to look you in the face again!!!! Do I now have negative sister-in-law points???!! I will have to come to our Christmas visit in disguise ....

Seriously though - thank you for reading! Very brave of you indeed, particularly as I wouldn't have thought it was a man's novel!
