Time together

Been busy recetly.... Visited the Royal International Air Tattoo at Fairford weekend before last (some pictures here)... Good day was had but boy was it hot... Same for Farnborough. Camera played up a bit. Looking back on it the woman who searched my bags on the way in did say that she thought that she'd turned on my camera, I checked that and it was still switch off. However she must had taken it off 'auto' and that messed up my pictures...

Was off on Friday. There was supposed to be a train strike, so I thouht I'd book the da off. But it was cancelled but I still fancied some time off. Been busy with aircraft trips, photography, websites etc, so wanted a free day to sort more of that out. Leaving time over the weekend to spend with Sue. We haven't had much quality time together in the past week, so wanted to make time during the weekend, which we did. Watched a couple of films, did some gardening, sat in the sun. It was good.

Magazines in wrappers

Since buying my new Digital Camera I've been looking at ways at trying to sell photographs in order to get some of the out lay back... This isn't something new to me, I did try it back in the mid-80's but only sold one picture back then. Anyway, when I heard that there was an aircraft coming through Eastleigh Airport on delivery, I rushed down, hoping to get a picture of it, knowing that magazines might be interested. Well I got the picture... Sent off a thumbnail of it to a magazine editor and he replied that he wanted the full size version and that he'll try and put it in the magazine. That was a few weeks ago. Today I trot down to the newsagents to see if my picture was in the new edition of the magazine. To my horror realised that the magazine had a supplement this month and so was wrapped in plastic. So there was no way I could check in the magazine without splitting open the packet. Something the newsagent wouldn't want me to do. So I ended up buying the magazine anyway, only to find that my picture wasn't in there. Maybe it was too late for this edition and will be in the next one. I bet next months will be in plastic as well.

Busy Day

Sue and I are off work this week. Just having a few days at home and the odd trip out. However I've got to go into work tomorrow because of the management training course I'm doing.

Yesterday went to Monisfont Abbey. A National Trust place and very nice it was too.. Decided that today we'd have a day at home. Good job with the massive thunder storm we had this morning.

You may have read that we are plagued with cats at our place. Well woke up this morning to the lawn being covered in feathers... those bloody cats had got one of the birds. I did put out lots of food for the birds last night. Felt like I was luring them to their death..... Ali, our neighbour but one, asked if some friends that were visiting her tomorrow night could park on our drive way... we said that was OK... got chatting about the cat situation... she owns one of the cats.... she said that it was her neighbours cat that probably got the bird, she saw it with a frog the other day. Ah so that's where the other big frog had gone.... grrrrrr she did say that her cat did have a slow worm the other day..... ah could be the same one I found hiding in the lawn mower, which Sue put back in the bushes... wonder what's the point trying to create a wildlife area of the garden and encourage mother nature, if all of it is going to be killed by cats, I wouldn't mind so my if they were doing it to survive, but no I doubt if any of the aforementioned creatures were actually eaten... God how I have come to HATE CATS.....
